Meet the Instructors

My name is Jamie Garcia and I’ve been riding since 1986. In all that time I spent about 6 months in jumping lessons, and that was the extent of my “formal” education. I was a feral child who preferred bareback on the trails, jumping pasture fences, running everywhere, and being a general nuisance. I can’t teach you how to change leads, or ride on the forehand (is that even the term?), though we have many instructors who can. I CAN teach you how to tack up and care for a horse, improve balance, get comfortable, control, be confident around, and mostly enjoy these amazing creatures.
I have lived in Yuma for 9 years, and it’s my favorite place on earth. I currently have 2 horses, very soon buying a third, and my goal is to have 7 or 8 and start my own guided trail rides business. Unfortunately, until then I have to work for The Man and my only availability is Saturday-Sunday.
Lessons are $25 per 30 minutes, 1 hour lessons available. I will take 1 child or 2 adult students at a time.
